Enthusiasm differs from person to person. It is quite common for a person to be enthusiastic for a short period of time but in time this enthusiasm is fleeting. A person who is able to maintain their enthusiasm is a person who draws their motivation from internal forces. Every person should try and maintain their largest source of motivation from themselves. A true thinker and achiever has mastered how to call upon their own drive and motivation to accomplish things. The road is not always paved for people; sometimes you have to be willing to pave your own path. Many times I am so honored to come across a senior citizen who is still incredibly motivated and enthusiastic. They are noteworthy in their own right. I love to learn from every older person who I have contact with. Many times I have found myself admiring individuals who maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards life. You can learn from every person that you meet but the wealth of knowledge from an elder exceeds most in my opinion. Edward Butler George puts my estimate into words in his quote.
Daily I am able to touch base with elders who are moving forward on their rehabilitation journeys. I help to inspire based on my previous rehab experience and I am greatly inspired based on the life experience of elders. I greatly enjoy interacting with young people who have been injured as well but it seems as though there is a vaster population of elders within the facilities that I visit. I gain inspiration from every individual that I touch base with. I make an effort to always maintain my enthusiasm so that every individual that I interact with can continue along his/her rehabilitation path. Each and every family that I have come to know has been equally as enthusiastic as his/her relative. I benefit immensely from touching base with all of these families. There is a different piece of knowledge that can be gained from each and every family that I encounter. I would love to know who else has had a positive experience working with elders. I am enthusiastic to read any responses that you may have and as always I thank you very much for reading!
