John Wooden reminds us of the importance of role models. Mothers and fathers alike have to assume their role as being a leader and a stand out citizen to those that follow in their footsteps. Each citizen should assume that the younger generation is following them. There are many responsibilities in this life but few that are more important than encouraging the younger generation. I am honored and incredibly proud that I was chosen as a role model by the Girl Scouts. I am hopeful that I will continue to do my part as a stand out female under the age of 40. It brings great joy to my heart to know that there are young women who have yet to decipher their career paths that will look towards me and the other honorees as inspiration as they attempt to find their way. My entire life I have spoken the truth I continue to do so and I do not shy from topics that are difficult to speak of. Certainly the difficulties that we all face as women and people are not often popular to be spoken of; yet I feel that young women who do are heard loud and clear. It is my hope that every person does their duty and seeks to educate those who are younger than them. Every person in society should evaluate who and what they are and seek to help those that are following in their shoes. I feel that this world would be a far better place if every person took ownership over their role and responsibility to mentor others society who fall much more easily into order. I encourage everyone to step into his/her role as a leader to someone less experienced. I will gladly respond to any questions or responses that you may have. I am preparing for an awards dinner where I am being nominated as a “Phenomenal woman under the age of 40”. I feel as though those that have been injured look to me far more than others; regardless I am honored and am enthusiastic to help all those who are younger than I because I realize how difficult it is to make a career pathway yourself. I think that everything in this world is easier with assistance.
